A Day Of Shopping Will Make Any Girl Smile

All Smiles Yesterday

Today after Physical Therapy, we went shopping. Bella got a new pair of sunglasses. Is that not the cutest?? Oh and she also got this new dress. It is so fun to dress her up!!

"Okay mom, that is enough with the pictures!! I am done with these sunglasses!!"

Bella slept through her entire therapy session. As soon as it was over she opened her eyes and started looking around. I think she likes to "pretend" to be asleep to get out of doing any work!! We learned some new techniques with her. Again they feel very confident in her ability to rehabilitate. Her first goal is to turn from back to side. I am so proud of how much she has been accomplishing.
The new addition on the house is coming along slowly but we are making progress. Link over to my blog pics of our progress.
Also Ava is doing better. They did a heart cath yesterday and all went well, but please continue to keep her and her family in your prayers.

mommy to Kaden, Brody and angel Ava said...: Sorry I haven't been able to comment lately...I have just now been able to catch up. Bella looks great. She looks soooo happy in the pictures you posted. We just bought Kaden some new glasses too. I will have to post more pictures...hopefully tomorrow now that I am home for the weekend.

I am so proud of Bella and the two of you. She has overcome so much and is doing incredible. I am excited for you, I know what it feels like to see your baby do things that others say would never happen. Way to go Bella...prove them all wrong.

Story of Isabella Grace Gudde

Isabella was born December 23, 2006. She was born with a congenital heart defect called Truncus Arteriosus. She also was diagnosed with a deletion on her 22nd chromosome known as DiGeorge Syndrome. She had her first open heart surgery Febuary 27, 2007. She had 5 med flights last year. She had pulmonary hypertension and kept going into respiratory distress. After the 4th med flight, they decided to put in a trach and put her on the ventilator. She was home for 4 days before she was flown back. The fifth time was the worst. I really thought we were going to lose her. She again showed great strength and determination. She had a cardiac arrest on Aug 1, 2007. She was left brain damaged and we were told she was blind and deaf. Matt and I never accepted this fate and as time has gone on we have seen miracle after miracle. Bella now has her hearing back and much of her sight. She is still very far behind, but is making progress everyday. She came home September 12, 2007 after spending almost 160 days at Childrens Mercy in 2007. She was at home up until this February. She went in for her monthly check up and we found out she had a huge aneurysm at the conduit site on her heart. She underwent her second open heart surgery on February 21, 2008, just 6 days short from being one year post op from her first surgery. She is now home and doing fabulous.
