Tomorrow is the Big Day

Well, tomorrow we are headed to KC for our appointment. We have cardiology appointment at 1:00 for an echo and then we have special care at 2:30. I think we are going to try and leave early so we can stop by the PICU to see everyone before cardiology.

Please say a prayer for Micah and Jason, they are moving to Indiana. Jason got a job there. I think they left today.

Isabella made front page news again. This time she was on the front of the Craig HomeCare Newsletter. I have put this on the bottom of the blog for easier viewing. So wish us luck tomorrow. I am hoping they will let us start trach trials with Bella. This means she will get to be off the vent for certain times of the day. Oh and she has gained another pound. She is up to 17 lbs. I will say it again, miracles happen!!

mommy to Kaden, Brody and angel Ava said...: Good luck with the appt. I am sure you will have nothing but great news. That would be so awesome if you get to do the trach trials. We work with Kaden and are trying to get him off of the vent. He has his days...some days he is off longer than others. I am sure that your little miracle baby has more to prove to everyone. I continue to pray for you all every night. Again, I hope everything goes well tomorrow, and I am sure the PICU nurses will love to see her. It is always so much fun to take them back so the nurses can see how well they are doing. We take Kaden up to the NICU every time we are at CMH. Good night and sweet dreams to you all. Story of Isabella Grace Gudde

Isabella was born December 23, 2006. She was born with a congenital heart defect called Truncus Arteriosus. She also was diagnosed with a deletion on her 22nd chromosome known as DiGeorge Syndrome. She had her first open heart surgery Febuary 27, 2007. She had 5 med flights last year. She had pulmonary hypertension and kept going into respiratory distress. After the 4th med flight, they decided to put in a trach and put her on the ventilator. She was home for 4 days before she was flown back. The fifth time was the worst. I really thought we were going to lose her. She again showed great strength and determination. She had a cardiac arrest on Aug 1, 2007. She was left brain damaged and we were told she was blind and deaf. Matt and I never accepted this fate and as time has gone on we have seen miracle after miracle. Bella now has her hearing back and much of her sight. She is still very far behind, but is making progress everyday. She came home September 12, 2007 after spending almost 160 days at Childrens Mercy in 2007. She was at home up until this February. She went in for her monthly check up and we found out she had a huge aneurysm at the conduit site on her heart. She underwent her second open heart surgery on February 21, 2008, just 6 days short from being one year post op from her first surgery. She is now home and doing fabulous.
