Surgery has been put off for a few days

At 6:15 this morning, Dr. Lofland came in and told us the bad news. Surgery would not take place today. He does not feel like it is safe to take her to the OR with a possible infection brewing. He said a few days. So I just talked to cardiac surgery nurses and they said she is tentatively on the schedule for Thursday, but it could be Wednesday. She did say that it will be this week. I am a little dissappointed. We had all mentally prepared ourselves for today and it was a big let down. However, I completely trust and respect Dr. Loflands decison. I am sure he thought this desicion thru over and over. I know if he says to wait, then it is for the best. And maybe she does have an infection. So if she did, then she could end up coming out of surgery septic and then not recovering. So this is what we prayed about. We prayed God would give the Dr.'s the knowledge to care for Isabella. Well I have to say that the prayer has been answered. I beleive God knew she was not ready for surgery today. So yes I am a little sad about the decision, but I understand. So our families will go home today and then come back for Thursdays surgery. I will continue to keep everyone posted. As soon as I know when I will let everyone know. I think the hardest part is not knowing. And there is a big chance we will not every really know if she is having surgery until they are physically taking her to the OR. That is when I will be like okay it is really happening!!!

That happened to us with Tucker. God knows, the surgeons, in my opinion, are very in tune with these kiddos and what is best. It is hard getting mentally prepared and then not having it....in hine sight it gave us some extra days of holding and loving on him before we couldnt pick him up while he recovered. Hang in there,,,I read your blog today and am glad they postponed it. The Lord works in mysterious ways and in ways that tell us things we do not see. Hugs to you!!!!

We're still holding you all up in prayer.......

Thank you so much for the phone call this morning! The disappointment is heart wrenching, but Dr. Lofland is one of the best and God guided him, so keep reminding yourself of that. Hopefully if this really is a bug it goes away soon and Bella can go in and we can begin praying for her recovery!
Stay strong, get some rest!

Matt, thanks for your concerns about waking me this morning, but Megan was right I would have been very upset if she didn't call:)

Hugs, loves, and prayers

Hi there,
I saw your post on the truncus site and followed the link to your site. Wow what a journey you all have been on with your sweet little baby. We have a couple of things in common. We too have a little girl with truncus as well as Digeorge. She has just turned 3 years old. She had a rough start but is doing great now. She has had her heart fixed twice and we are praying that this holds her for a long time. The other thing that we have in common is that we both must love the name Madison. Our little ones name is Madison just like your middle
one.
I am so sorry to hear that Bella is having such a hard time right now. I know how it feels to have heart surgery post poned and it stinks. But just enjoy the time you have with your little one before all those all familiar tubes are everywhere again. I will keep up to date with your news and continue to pray that all goes well for Bella this time around.
Take care,
Pam and Madison

Gods know when the Surgery will be and God will take care of Isabella in her time of need. God will take care of you and Isabella. I am sorry that the surgery was not today but I think it might be a good thing that is best to wait and see if things will work out with Isabella. I just wanted to let you know I will still be parying for Isabella and for you. Just remember that Isabella is in Gods hands now and he will take care of her.
Love you both from Adrianna and her mommy Kim

CHD Families left you a carepackage at the front desk this morning (Monday) I hope you get it soon. Look for a CMH cafeteria meal card. Sometimes it gets lost in the box!!

Bless you all. I have been following Bella's story through Kaden's (and now Ava's)blog. Like Ava, my daughter also has Turner Syndrome and had heart surgery at CMH 3 1/2 years ago. Those doctors are so amazing, and like you, I believe they put the best interest of each patient in the front of their minds as they make decisions... Your little Bella is in our prayers.

I prayed for all of you at exactly 7:25 a.m. yesterday (Monday) before I read your latest post. Then I checked on it while Liz & Sheri were here so we would all have the update...but I didn't comment!

Sending love, peace and prayers your way,
Angela & family

Matt & Megan, I just wanted you both to know you are in our hearts in prayers, while we all wait. Micah keeps me updated on Bella's progress. Just keep looking up cause there is a very special little angel watching over Bella, she has been through sooo much, she is a little fighter and with Gods grace will get through this too. All our love & prayers are with you.

Megan, I visited with Andrea this morning, and since she does not have access to computer, she wanted me to write to you.
She is thinking of and praying for you all! She would love to come see you, but Addy is coughing and they don't think it would be wise for Gage to come to the hospital. In the evening when Mike is home with them, it is not safe for Andrea to drive alone through some areas of town.
Andrea sends her love!

Sure been praying Bella and all of you are somehow getting some rest! You've been through so much with all the stress of expecting things to happen.

We rebuke all the fear and ask for God's sweet Peace and Comfort to completely surround all of you and your family.

Love, Aunt Judy & Uncle Paul

Keep faith in the Lord. He is guiding everyone to make sure Bella gets the best from her surgery. I am sure it is rough to play the waiting game. I pray for Bella everyday as we also pray for Ava. Stay strong and lean on your support right now. We will continue praying, and look foward to updates.
